Brief History

These blogs are a great idea for people who live away from family and who don't have the luxury of catching up at Sunday dinner. I will give everyone a brief history of where we've been.

I was working at UPS in Logan in 2002 where I'd been for 4 years. I was working on a MBA when I saw an employer post his spot for interviews at Utah State. His name was Stock Longhurst with Forest Pharmaceuticals. I knew the Longhurst's through Hannah's family. In Mendon, everyone knows everyone. So I interviewed with him at the Comfort Inn on main street behind the 4th North 7-11. I told my brother Cameron to interview as well with Stock. We ended up being the finalists for the spot in Grand Rapids, MI. We flew to Arizona on 12/26/02 to meet with the Michigan boss. I was offered the job on 12/28/02 and I was in NY in training on 1/5/03. So I quit UPS where I thought I'd be for a long time, quit my Master's program and gave it a whirl.

We moved to Grand Rapids, MI which is a great place to raise a family with our two boys, Stockton and Porter. It's a very conservative area with a lot of Dutch influence. It' s also the mecca of anti-mormon literature. I was a sales rep in Michigan and had a lot of success. In one year, we turned the team from a cellar dweller to a top ranked team in under a year. During that year, we welcomed our first girl to the family, Sophie. Our next year was even better professionally winning our prestigeous President's Club Award which came with a free trip to Ireland for Hannah and I and lots of other goodies. The year after that was also great because we had our 3rd boy, Hampton.

After 3 and a half years in Michigan, we were looking for something new. I saw a posting for an awesome spot with Forest in Kansas City, MO called the MFO or MOFO as most people call me. I looked into it and boom here we are. I accepted the position in May of 06 just 4 days after having Hampton. I traveled from MO to MI all summer long until we moved there in August of 06. We live in a place called Platte City which is about 20 minutes north of Kansas City by the airport. We are 20-30 minutes away from all of the historical church sites so everyone is welcome to come stay with us while seeing the sites.
